An ongoing quarantine mail project. As of 09-11-2020, about 80 cards have been altered and sent via USPS across the globe.
When my friend, Chicago artist Laura Davis, began making what she calls ‘Corona memory rings’ during the early weeks of quarantine, I wanted to send her something in return for her generous gift. I altered a recipe card from the 1970s and began sending them to friends and colleagues. This project is ongoing and will end when the pandemic has been quelled enough for all of us to resume our regular, out-of-the-home lives. Somehow making art to give away makes sense.
Altered Betty Crocker recipe cards, graphite and/or copper wire, first class USPS stamps, envelopes. 2020.
